KAYAKING ON THE RIVER WIESENT

Experience the area of the Fraenkische Schweiz from its most beautiful perspective – from the seat of a Kayak during a boat trip on the small river Wiesent.
In order to glide comfortably over the water or to paddle through a few “rapids” you don’t have to be an expert – the river Wiesent has been graded as absolutely suitable for beginners.

With water sports wet clothing is (more or less) inevitable. Please take extra clothing with you and don’t forget about sun protection or rain protection either. Before you start we will introduce you to the paddling technique and advise you about certain parts of the route. Kayaktrips are allowed during daytime (09:00 am – 17:00 pm) from May until September. You will enjoy your day on the Wiesent!

In the Wiesent valley you find a varied world of nature and plants, where extremely rare animals live, as for example the Water Blackbird. To make the natural condition of the Wiesent and the “adventure of river hiking” work out together, a nature compatible Canoe tourism is our aim. BOATS & TRIPS

For your trip we offer single or double kayaks and triple canadians. For the single kayak, the model ‘Cerro’, trademark Eskimo (Cockpit 89 x 47 cm, payload 120 kg) you will get a splash guard as well. The double kayak, trademark Fiji, model ‘Balou’ (payload 200 kg) is easily to handle for unexperienced. For the triple canadian, trademark Rotomod, model ‘ Rivera’ (payload 260 kg) a little bit knowledge in kayaking in case of the length and the weight is useful. Because of shallow water areas in the head water of the river the canadian only can be booked for the middle trips.

We offer you various tours on the most beautiful parts of the river Wiesent between Doos and Ebermannstadt. Unexperienced can try out a middle length, experienced will prefer a longer trip.

Daytrip: Doos / Riesenburg – Muggendorf
Time requirement: 5 – 6 hours, starting time: 10:30 am

2-Day Trip: Daytrip & Middle Length II
Time requirement: 2 days, according to the information of the tours

Middle Length I: Behringersmuehle – Muggendorf
Time requirement: 2-3 hours, starting time: 09:00 am

Middle Length II: Muggendorf – Rothenbuehl
Time requirement: 2-3 hours, starting time: 01:00 pm

Services & Prices

Meeting point for all boatrips is always our office in Muggendorf. Included in the price are paddle, life jacket, container, Transfer to the start/ Pick up from the end of the tour, briefing in paddling techniques and behavior on the river, as well as important information for your tour and a written description of the route to take with you.

Always on Sundays or on request we offer guided tours for groups from 6 – 9 persons (adults). Children from the age of 5 years are allowed to participate in a boat trip. Children up to the age of 13 years get a 50 % discount. Children from the age of 14 years are allowed to paddle in a Kayak on their own.
